Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, these following three projects are on hold. We are hoping that in the fall we will be able to move forward with them again.
Human Trafficking Awareness Placemats for fast-food restaurants in South Lake Tahoe. These placemats will be put in local fast-food establishments for a short period of time to raise awareness of human trafficking. They will have info-bytes about human trafficking statistics from Polaris – the nation’s main human trafficking organization with their toll-free hotline number. These placemats were going to be placed in fast food restaurants during the Celebrity Golf Tournament in July, 2020. Unfortunately, that event has now been cancelled.
A book event highlighting the Second Edition of our consultant, John Vanek’s The Essential Abolitionist. This is in the process of being scheduled, and may take place the summer of 2020, depending upon the status of the Coronavirus Pandemic.” We’re hoping to host this event in September.
- Providing training materials for local motels and hotels, in accordance with SB 97, on the top ten signs of trafficked women and children. Once the motels and hotels open back up again, we will be visiting them to distribute the informational placards.
- Education in the schools – now that Live Violence Free is no longer able to offer this specific training to the high school, PATH plans on taking over this training for the 20/21 school year, and offering it in the spring months.
